Visit to the JVA Lenzburg Prison (German)
All members are to visit the JVA Lenzburg Prison.
When: Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 13.30 to 16.30. We meet at JVA (Ziegeleiweg 13, 5600 Lenzburg, bus 392) at 13.15 at the latest, as we cannot wait for late-comers for organizational reasons. The visit will be in German.
You can register until April 15, 2019  via doodle. The group size will be between 10-24 people, so hurry up to sign up for this event.

PLEASE note that when you register we need your first and last name. An email will be sent to you from a board member in a second time because the prison will need some more information (Full address, Date of birth, Nationality). We need to do this way because of data protection: we can't ask you to add this information directly in the doodle. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
We are looking for your to share this event together
Viviane Zogg and the board.

Stammtisch in Zurich
Following our interesting and well attended Stammtisch on Saturday November 10 2018, we have now organized another one in a quieter location. It will take place, like the last one, in German. You are very welcome to join us from 14:00 to 16:00 on Saturday May 25 in the Rheinfelder Bierhalle, Niederdorfstrasse 76, Zurich, in a room we have rented for the occasion. Please register in the Doodle or find more information in English or German. We are very much looking forward to seeing you there!

Tips & ideas how to cheer up your penpals
We are looking for creative ideas to help cheer up our friends on death row which can be sent by letters - for example, our member Isabelle Délèze collected some ideas for the Christmas time which you can find here. For any further information or when you have other creative ideas, feel free to contact Claudia Tramér at penpals@lifespark.org. We will share the ideas in our newsletter.

Report: Christmas cards project
One of lifespark’s members had a wonderful project idea just before Christmas: Sending Christmas wishes to the inmates on our waiting list, who didn’t receive a pen pal yet, to let them know that they are not forgotten (the average waiting time is about two years in order to receive a pen pal) and that we are doing our best to find a pen pal for them. The project was a real success and a lot of lifespark members participated. Thank you on behalf of the board!
To display the project’s success as well as the thankfulness of our waiting inmates, we decided to display a selection of their answers here.

Projects in cooperation with Inmates' Voices
Inmates' Voices is a Swiss organization which develops and promotes different artistic projects with the goal to give a voice to inmates. It was found by lifespark members. Find more information under www.inmatesvoices.com.

Project INMATES’ PICTURES / COULOI'ART – Artworks by American prisoners
Lifespark and Inmates’ Voices are pleased to present a new project which will provide another opportunity for American prisoners to be heard outside their walls: we created an exhibition that will display artwork of your pen-friends: Drawings, paintings, objects made in the cells, decorated envelopes, texts illustrated by drawings, for example a poem with a drawing, drawings of the inside of the cell, collection of texts, literary works (a copy of a book or manuscript)...
The first exhibit took place in spring 2017, click here for more details.
